Champions win medals, our Community Champions win hearts.
We all travel through life under different circumstances. For some of us, the road is smooth and then suddenly becomes rocky, for some of us trying times are stamped on the horizon. The truth is, no matter what path we travel, we will all experience periods of struggle, but we do not have to do battle alone. Become a Community Champion for our clients who are suffering from an injury, illness, disability, the loss of a loved one, divorce, or the natural process of ageing.

Community Champions can Give
Community Champions do not always have time to spare to volunteer but still wish to give back. Your gift will ensure the people who need our service maintain their independence and receive nutrition security through affordable meals.
-
Check with your employer to see if your company has a matching program. The power of your gift is doubled by letting your company know where you volunteer or give.
Consider speaking with your company to create a matching program.

Cause marketing involves a collaboration between a for-profit business like your company you work at, and Calgary Meals on Wheels. This can also be a social or charitable campaign put on by your company and the funds raised will be donated to Calgary Meals on Wheels.
Cause marketing increases brand awareness and exposure for both parties, especially for the corporation as it would fulfill corporate social responsibility within the ESG’s (Environment, Sustainability and Governance). Other benefits to the corporation with cause marketing is building a relationship with the community, boost employee moral, stand out from the competition and increase brand loyalty.

Peer-to-peer fundraising is when individuals organize personal campaigns to collect donations from their peers to support Calgary Meals on Wheels. These fundraisers can include asking for donations, throwing occasion-specific fundraisers (like birthdays fundraisers) and participating in events like team events. Champions have a network of friends, family, co-workers, and other peers that will give because of their passion towards Calgary Meals on Wheels, and we thank them for introducing us to more of our community.
