Calgary Awards – Community Advocate Organization

It’s not very often you get the opportunity to sit behind the Mayor’s desk, but several staff and a couple volunteers had the chance at last night’s 2014 Calgary Awards. On behalf of Calgary Meals on Wheels, Executive Director Janice Curtis was honoured to accept the Community Advocate Organization Award, which recognized a not-for-profit organization for outstanding service that has positively affected the community.

After a handshake and photo op with Mayor Nenshi, guests were invited to explore the Mayor’s Chambers and even take a turn sitting at his desk during the reception.
