Welcome Phoenix Phillips

In the Fall of 2017, Janice and Stephanie toured Phoenix Phillips through our Southeast Production Facility. While Phoenix had worked with Calgary Meals on Wheels through various media over the years, he had never seen the inner workings of our daily operations.

As it is for most, it was an eye-opening experience for Phoenix. “You bring nutrition to the doors of hundreds of people every day, but you need to bring the community to your door; more people should see what you do here, it really is amazing!” And this was the start of what will be a long-lasting relationship.

Today, on December 5th, we announced Phoenix as our official spokesperson and we couldn’t be happier. Phoenix is a valuable member of the Calgary Media Community and has been for over 20 years. From his national show on Country 105 to his daily TV hosting duties on Shaw TV, and now as a Media Freelancer, he's out there!

During his career, Phoenix has showcased and spearheaded countless community initiatives and non-profits, which made him a perfect choice for us. He understands the value of non-profits in our city. As a proud father of two teenage boys, he also finds time to volunteer with his kid's sports teams and with a nationally recognized organization, Dreams Take Flight.

“Phoenix is a natural fit for our organization, he is passionate and has dedicated his life to being actively involved in our city through his media career. He’s a respected media personality who has a voice known to many and the networks to ensure he will be heard. We are very fortunate to have him join our Calgary Meals on Wheels family.”

When Janice asked Phoenix if he wanted to represent us as a spokesperson, he didn’t hesitate to say yes.

“From the moment I received your first email to the moment I met both Stephanie and Janice I knew we should be partners. Calgary Meals on Wheels’ reputation precedes them and to be associated with such an iconic organization would be humbling.” And when asked why he believes in what we do his response was, “Calgary Meals on Wheels is a difference maker: affecting change in our community. From families, seniors, and vulnerable school children, no one is judged. Their vision is to offer nutrition and caring support to Calgarians. This is a message I want to help shout from the rooftops!”

Please help us welcome our Spokesperson for Calgary Meals on Wheels, Phoenix Phillips.
