Help Us Care for our Neighbours in Need.

Calgary Meals on Wheels believes that all Calgarians should have access to affordable, nutritious meals, no matter what challenges they face. Volunteers are critical to our operations and help us keep our meals affordable. We have 5 community depots around the city of Calgary where our ~415 volunteers pick up meals and deliver them to homes all over the city on 65 routes each day. Since 1965, we have never missed a day of delivery thanks to the dedication of our extraordinary volunteers. Our volunteers also help us deliver “more than a meal” by providing our home-delivery clients with an informal wellness check and opportunity for social connection. We couldn’t do what we do without them!

Graham Construction

This Giving Tuesday, Graham Construction truly went above and beyond as our matching sponsor, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their generosity and incredible support!

Not only did they help us raise over $35,000, but they also sent 36 amazing volunteers who covered 13 routes in one day to deliver meals and smiles across our community.

Thanks to their efforts, we were able to double our impact, ensuring that even more of our neighbors have access to nutritious meals and the connections they need to thrive.

To everyone at Graham Construction, thank you for being champions of community and kindness. Your generosity and teamwork have made a world of difference, and we’re so thankful to have had you by our sides since 2018.

PCL Construction

When we needed a lifeline to ensure our clients got their meals despite the icy roads and winter chaos, PCL didn’t hesitate. They sent 13 amazing team members to cover 7 routes, making sure no one went without a meal.

This is the kind of community spirit that keeps us moving—literally! We’re beyond grateful for PCL’s generosity and dedication to helping their neighbors.

To our followers: this is what it looks like when businesses step up to make a real difference. Let’s give them a huge round of applause!

Volunteer Spotlight

Barb Homer

Barb Homer is a shining example of a multigenerational volunteer at Calgary Meals on Wheels. Her grandma, Annie Dickson, was an original CMOW Board

member and shortly thereafter, Barb’s mom June began delivering meals in 1966, joined by her father Arch 23 years later. Barb accompanied her mother

on deliveries for years, along with all her siblings, until she took over the route in 2010. Barb has now taken her own children and her two-year-old

grandson on route, too. For 59 years, five generations of Barb's family have been delivering meals to our clients in Haysboro!
