60th Anniversary
We warmly invite you to join us as we celebrate 60 years of driving out hunger in Calgary. Take a walk through history with our interactive timeline tour, featuring commemorative dishes inspired by recipes from our archives. Participate in a silent auction, raffle, or the Buy a Brick campaign to help us continue the fight against food insecurity in our community.
Throughout the evening, keynote speakers will share powerful reflections on the lasting impact Calgary Meals on Wheels has made - together with our dedicated partners, volunteers, and donors - on the lives of countless Calgarians. We are also looking forward to recognizing collaboration and resilience with the presentation of three Diamond Supporter awards, honoring that together we are stronger.
Join us for an evening of reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment to nourishing our community.
Thanks for Giving
We’re excited to share that Qualico Communities is once again stepping up to match donations, up to $7,500, for our Thanks for Giving campaign. That means your gift will go twice as far in supporting vulnerable Calgarians who rely on us every day.
For 60 years, our mission has been clear: feeding our city and strengthening our community. Stories like Lynn’s show why your support matters so much:
“When my husband’s health declined, I worried we’d lose our independence. Calgary Meals on Wheels made it possible for us to stay in our home together. Knowing that people care enough to bring us meals every day fills my heart with gratitude.” – Lynn, Client
Your gift can:
Provide warm, nutritious meals to seniors, children, and families across Calgary.
Support programs that help end the cycle of poverty and promote healthy lives.
Create a ripple effect of kindness and connection across our city.
With your support—and Qualico Communities’ match—we can continue this 60-year legacy of care, compassion, and community.

YYC Hot Chocolate Fest
YYC Hot Chocolate Fest was started in 2011 by Calgary Meals on Wheels as a way to bring our community together to support local businesses and raise funds for a good cause. Originally just 10 businesses participated to raise $5,000 for Calgary Meals on Wheels. Now in its 14th year, this annual Fest has grown into a beloved city-wide event that sees over 100 businesses take part and raises over $100,000 to combat food-insecurity in Calgary.
Demand for Calgary Meals on Wheels’ service has gone up by 10%, so this year our goal is to raise 10% more than last year, for a total of $126,500 to help us make and deliver our nutritious, affordable meals to the community members who need them.
Every February, participating cafés, restaurants, and chocolatiers compete for the coveted awards of YYC's Best Hot Chocolate, Best Spirited Hot Chocolate, Cup That Runneth Over (most sold) and, new for 2024, the Most Creative Hot Chocolate. For 29 days, Calgarians can sip varieties of hot cocoas and vote to determine the blend that roasts them all!
How does it work? Try out some of the Hot Chocolates from our list of contestants and then rate the drink online or through our app to help decide who has the best Hot Chocolate in town!
$1 - $3 from every cup sold supports Calgary Meals on Wheels, thereby directly providing nutritious meals to Calgarians.
